As a Registered Nurse and Health Professions Educator, Mary works with clinicians and others in the healthcare environment to maximize communication and teamwork using simulation techniques. She currently co-directs a simulation-focused fellowship to develop future leaders in simulation, and serves as Nursing Program Manager for Duke Area Health Education Center (AHEC), where she leads outreach continuing education for health professionals in North Carolina. For over thirty years she has taught group exercise classes in a variety of settings, and is currently teaching Pilates classes in the Raleigh, NC area. She is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and is also certified in Group Exercise/Fitness by the American Council on Exercise and the Athletics and Fitness Association. She is dedicated to helping others improve their health and wellness and wholeheartedly agrees with founder Joseph Pilates' philosophy that "Physical fitness is the requisite to happiness."
