I've been interested in using unconventional teaching methods since I first worked at the Insect Zoo at the Smithsonian. Since then, I've forayed into math, programming, science education and spent years as a professional archaeologist. For the past 2 decades, I've been working with a small business to create and test serious games and simulations to teach medical students and physicians about topics that get overlooked - from substance abuse prevention & treatment to emotional resilience. I've watched serious games evolve from laser discs to Flash and now on to headset VR. I love seeing what each technology can bring and what I can do as a serious game designer to excite and engage learners in a new way.
