John most enjoys making technology work for other people. He has served on the A/V crew at his home church, helped ECGC, GalaxyCon/SuperCon Raleigh, Animazement, and ProductCampRTP over the years. As a technologist and a maker, John doesn’t take no for an answer. “There’s always a way to figure it out!” especially “…if you have the right tools for the job.” And, if you don’t… innovation is the only way to go - work it out! John helps ECGC most in planning technology support for the many speakers and panels ECGC hosts. If you’re a speaker, look for John or one of his team - for help, encouragement, friendly advice and a smile - sometimes not in that order.
During the day, John is a Senior Business Analyst, Data and Enterprise Architect and IT Manager. John has loved gaming since early middle school - on Atari 8-bit computers, programming and designing, and most of all playing - Ultima III an Alternate Reality. He broke the ice coding on an HP spectrum analyzer at the ripe old age of 9. In recent years, John enjoys watching his kids play Beat Saber on Oculus Quest and has fought, at times, a love for Lord of the Rings Online - oh and don't forget Ham Radio (K4TOO).
